NGU Baseball picked to finish 2nd by Conference Carolinas coaches

High Point, SC-- The North Greenville baseball team was picked to finish second in the league by Conference Carolinas coaches, earning 59 total points including one first-place vote.

The Crusaders enter the 2016 season as the defending tournament champions. NGU tied with Erskine in points this season as the Flying Fleet also picked up 59-points. The fist place nod went to Mount Olive, the league's perennial power. The Trojans enter this season looking to earn their seventh consecutive regular season title after finishing last year 39-16 and a 19-7 mark in conference play.

The Crusaders finished last season 29-25 with a 14-12 league record but earned their first ever NCAA tournament bid by sweeping through the Conference Carolinas tournament including wins over Pfeiffer, Mount Olive, and King. Checking in behind NGU is Belmont Abbey, and Pfeiffer which took the fourth and fifth spots, followed by King, Limestone, and Barton to round out spots six through eighth.

The Crusaders will open the 2016 season on February 3rd at Anderson. The first home game is scheduled for February 4th against Lander.
