Kamerman two hits Limestone; Crusaders win 1-0

Tigerville, S.C. – Zack Kamerman allowed just two hits through eight innings while John Leopard added to his league leading save total helping North Greenville to a 1-0 win in the series opener against Limestone College.

The Crusaders needed just one run to win Friday night’s opener against the Saints. Shaquille Rolle would deliver what would be the game winning RBI in the second inning with a two out double to left-center field that platted Josh Black and gave NGU a 1-0 lead.

NGU starter Zack Kamerman would do his part to seal the victory as he shut down a Saints Lineup that averages 5.65 runs per game. Kamerman recorded just three strikeouts but retired 27 of 29 batters. Limestone stranded six runners on the day after coaxing three free passes.

Leopard sealed the victory for North Greenville as he retired the saints in order in the ninth to keep the win intact. Andrew Frazier delivered Friday’s only multi-hit performance as he was 2-4. Rolle finished 1-3 with the game’s only RBI while three other players delivered a hit.
The Crusaders improved to 29-11 overall and 16-3 in Conference Carolinas play.

North Greenville and Limestone will wrap up the three-game set tomorrow afternoon with a double-header starting at 12pm at Ashmore field.
