Tigerville, S.C. - North Greenville earned its third win over Brevard College, Tuesday night with a 9-3 win over the Tornados.
North Greenville got off to a quick start with a three-run first inning. Nathaniel Maggio recorded his 38th RBI on the season in the frame while the Crusaders earned two more runs on a wild pitch and a passed ball.
The Crusaders added a run in each of the third and fourth innings, using a BC error and a home run from Josh Black to take a 5-1 lead. The Tornados added their first run of the game in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly that cut NGU's once four-run lead to three runs.
The scoring would pick up in the middle innings with a combined six runs being scored in the fifth and sixth innings. North Greenville would tack on a single run in the home half of the fifth on Josh Black's RBI single while Brevard would tack on two runs in the sixth.
Foley George would plate a run with an RBI double while Shaquille Rolle and Josh Black would record an RBI each with a pair of bases loaded walks to earn North Greenville a six run edge.
The bats would go silent in the final three innings as NGU completed the season sweep of Brevard. Tucker Burgess earned the win on Tuesday night after pitching five innings, allowing one run on five hits. Burgess struck out four batters and walked one.
Josh Black led North Greenville with three RBI as he went 2-3 from the plate with a run scored. Andrew Meadows and David Houser were both 2-5 with two runs scored while Foley George finished 2-4 with an RBI and a run.
NGU improved to 25-9 on the season while Brevard dropped to 12-23. The Crusaders will take on Montreat College tomorrow afternoon at 2pm in Montreat, North Carolina.
