Brevard, N.C. - North Greenville earned its second win of the season over Brevard College, downing the Tornados 6-2 in a midweek road contest.

Mitchell Painter and Shaquille Rolle powered NGU's offense from the bottom of the lineup, combining for six hits and three runs. Rolle also added an RBI to his line. Andrew Frazier was 1-5 with a double and three RBI while Jae Roberts was 1-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Eric Gilbert broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning, as his grounder to short was enough to score Jessep Polk who reached on a double earlier in the inning. Jae Roberts extended NGU's lead to two runs in the next frame with a solo home run to make the score 2-0.

The Crusaders did the most damage in the sixth inning, piecing together four hits to plate three runs. All three of the NGU runs scored on Frazier's double down the left field line. Gilbert, Rolle, and Painter would all come around to score for NGU extending north Greenville's lead to 5-0.

Rolle would pick up his RBI in the seventh inning with a single to center field that platted Mitchell Painter and gave the Crusaders the 6-0 lead. Brevard would plate their two runs in the eighth and ninth innings with two RBI singles, cutting North Greenville's lead to four.

The late inning rally fell way short though as NGU pitching limited the Tornados to just two runs on eight hits while leaving eight on base. Tucker Burgess earned his second win of the season allowing just three hits while striking out three. Blake Hamilton and Sam Pruitt turned in solid relief efforts for the Crusaders allowing just five hits and two runs.

North Greenville improved to 21-9 on the season after Tuesday's victory. The Crusaders will play Pfeiffer University on Friday, opening a three game Conference Carolinas series with the Falcons.
