Tigerville, S.C. -- Andrew Frazier tied a school record with eight RBI while helping set the Crusaders up for a second series win with an 18-1 win over Emmanuel College, Friday afternoon at Ashmore Field.
Frazier finished the day 3-4 with two runs with a homerun. Foley George also had multiple hits as he finished the day 2-5 with two runs scored. Hunter Dilworth improved to 2-2 as a starter after pitching five innings of shutout baseball. Dilworth allowed just three hits while striking out six.
The Crusaders took an 8-0 lead after three innings using four RBI from Frazier and a homerun from David Houser. Shaquille Rolle also picked up an RBI during the eight run outburst.
North Greenville's bats stayed busy in the fourth and fifth innings. Nathaniel Maggio blasted a solo homerun in the fourth to extend NGU's lead to 9-0 while a two run fifth inning gave the Crusaders an 11-run lead. Tony Davilla and Bennette Hill would account for the fifth inning RBI's as their singles scored Mitchell Painter and Frazier.
The biggest hit of the game came in the sixth inning as Andrew Frazier's blast carried over the left field fence for a grand slam. The homer was his first of the season and gave North Greenville a commanding 15-1 advantage.
The Crusaders would tack on three more runs in the eighth inning with a Jessep Polk double that scored two runs and a Jake Smith RBI single. Eric Gilbert and Andrew Meadows would come across to score on the Polk base hit. Polk would come around to score on Smith's RBI single.
The Crusaders improved 6-6 overall and 1-0 in Conference Carolinas play. NGU will wrap up the series with Emmanuel, Saturday afternoon with a double-header beginning at noon.
