BIG OPENING FRAME HELPS LIFT NGU OVER ANDERSON

Anderson, S.C.—Foley George was 2-5 with two RBI and a run scored while Drew Lipscomb was 2-2 with two runs scored and an RBI, leading North Greenville to 7-3 win over Anderson University in the final non-conference matchup of the season.

A four run first inning gave NGU an early edge as the Crusaders capitalized on a lack of control form Anderson starting pitching. Two walks and two base hits would lead to a 4-0 lead as RBI hits form Foley George and Drew Lipscomb would lead to a 3-0 lead. Lipscomb would later score on a wild pitch for NGU's fourth run of the game.

The Crusaders would add insurance runs in each of the third, fourth, and eighth innings to extend the lead to 7-3 after the Trojans spread three runs across three innings. NGU finished with eight hits on the night while taking six free passes from Trojan pitching. Andrew Locklear also had two hits for NGU, going 2-4 with an RBI.

Matt Laurens got the win for the Crusaders on the mound while Adam Boghosian shut the door in the ninth inning. NGU is now 24-22 on the season overall with one more three game series coming up this weekend. The Crusaders will host Erskine College in a three game set starting Friday afternoon at 4pm.
