Greenville, S.C—The North Greenville Baseball Team put itself in the driver's seat of a three game series with Pfeiffer on Friday night after a 14-11 win at Fluor Field.

NGU fell behind early after a two run first put the Falcons ahead. Allen Staton would give NGU its first lead of the game in the bottom of the first with a three run blast that traveled about 400 feet. The homer was Staton's seventh of the season and gave him 33 RBI on the season to lead the team.

NGU would claim a three run lead later in the game after the Falcons evened the score at 10-10 in the sixth. Shaquille Rolle got ahold of a first pitch fast ball and sent it over the left field green monster to give the Crusaders a 13-10 lead.

A run for each team in the seventh inning would cap the scoring as NGU held onto a 14-11 lead in the final two frames. John Leopard would pick up the win for NGU while Adam Boghosian earned his program leading ninth save of the season.

The Crusaders had a season high 17 hits led by three players with three hits each. Allen Staton, Foley George, Taylor McCuen, and Wheeler Smith had three hits each for NGU, while Shaq Rolle finished with two hits. Staton and McCuen both had four RBI for NGU while Rolle finished with three.

NGU improved to 21-17 on the season and 11-8 in league play heading into Saturday's double-header with Pfeiffer. The Crusaders and Falcons will play Saturday afternoon at 12 and 2pm.
