Tigerville, S.C.—NGU fell behind early and couldn't find the offense to recover as the Anderson Trojans take a 6-2 victory over NGU in a Thursday non-conference matchup.
A two run first would find the Crusaders down early in the game while Anderson pitching kept NGU off balance for much of the game. The Crusaders had just one hit through three innings while another two run inning in the fourth for Anderson gave the Trojans a four run cushion.
North Greenville would cut the lead to 4-2 with runs in the fourth and sixth innings as Foley George and Shaq Rolle would be credited with an RBI each. The Trojans would produce their third, two run frame of the game in the eighth to put The Crusaders in a 6-2 hole.
NGU would fail to rally in the final two innings, going hitless in its final six at bats as the team fell to 17-16 on the season. Jae Roberts was 2-4 with two runs scored while Foley George was 2-4 with an RBI. Shaquille Rolle accounted for NGU's fifth hit and was credited with an RBI.
The Crusaders will jump back into Conference Carolinas play this weekend as they host Southern Wesleyan University in a three game set, starting tomorrow afternoon at 3:30. Saturday's games will be played at 12 and 2pm.
