Former Crusader Ace Earns All-Star Sport
Normal, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, announce right-handed pitcher Drew Provence has been selected as a manager's choice for the 2013 Frontier League All-Star Game presented by 84 Lumber. The game will be held at CONSOL Energy Park in Washington, PA on Wednesday, July 17 at 7:05 p.m. (ET). 

"Drew is very deserving of this and he has some of the best stats of any starting pitcher in the league," said CornBelters Field Manager Brooks Carey. ". I appreciate Phil Warren from gateway recognizing what Drew has done the first half of the season." "I am thrilled to have 4 players heading to the All-Star game to represent the CornBelters, said Carey."

Provence is in his second season of professional baseball, and has spent both years with the CornBelters. He played collegiately for North Greenville University (Travelers Rest, SC). So far this season, he is 3-2 with a 2.13 ERA, 48 strikeouts and two complete games in 55 innings pitched. He will be joining fellow CornBelters Mike Schwartz, Pat McKenna, and Ryan Demmin on the West Division roster.
