Tigerville, S.C.—New head baseball coach Landon Powell has wasted little time hitting the recruiting trail. Powell pulled in his first commitment as Indian River Junior College transfer Shaquille Rolle has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball for the Crusaders.
Rolle, a native of Nassau, Bahamas played his high school baseball at Heritage High School in Boca Delray, Florida, where he was a three-year lettermen.
Rolle compiled impressive numbers during his 2014 campaign at Indian River State College at the plate and on the base path. Rolle boasted a .325 batting average for the Indians, with one home run, six doubles, and a triple. He also accounted for 20 stolen bases, 31 runs scored, and plated 21 RBI.
He was equally impressive in the field for the Pioneers with a .986 fielding percentage, accounting for a 103 putouts from his center field position. “We are very excited to welcome Shaquille to the North Greenville family,” remarked head skipper Landon Powell. “We plan on Shaq being a key piece in resurrecting the success of our traditionally rich baseball program!”
