STATON'S 7 RBI'S POWER CRUSADERS IN SERIES RUBBER GAME

Tigerville, S.C.— North Greenville wrapped up a 3 game series with Coker College on Monday afternoon with a 10-1 triumph over Coker College. The Crusaders took 2 out of 3 from the Cobras and improved to 21-11 on the season and 11-4 in conference play.

The Cobras lone run came in the top of the first inning and was aided by two NGU errors. The Crusaders erased the 1 run deficit early scoring three runs in their half of the 1st inning. Allen Staton claimed all 3 RBI’s with a bases clearing double, his 12th of the season. Staton was 3-4 on the day with a home run and 7 RBI’s.

Ryan Woodring earned the win for the Crusaders after pitching 5.2 innings and giving up 1 run which was unearned. Nate Richards closed the game out for NGU giving up just 1 hit in 3.2 innings of work.

Derek Fulmer continued his hot streak from the plate Monday going 2-2 with two walks, a double, and a homerun. Fulmer led the team with 4 runs scored. David Frazier and Anthony Foulk also had multi hit games with 2 a piece The Crusaders escaped trouble in the 4th inning with a bases loaded double play-which ended the top half of the frame and preserved North Greenville’s 5-1 lead. The Crusaders added a run in the 5th inning and 4 runs in the 6th.

The Crusaders welcome Young Harris to Tigerville on Tuesday for a 2:30pm first pitch.
