Tigerville, S.C.— The North Greenville Baseball team won its tenth straight over Southern Wesleyan after beating the Warriors 3-2 in ten innings Tuesday afternoon at Ashmore Field.

The Crusaders and Southern Wesleyan remained scoreless until the fifth inning when Southern Wesleyan struck first with one run on one hit. The Warriors had a little help off of one North Greenville Error.

Up until the fifth inning, North Greenville starting pitcher Derick Fulmer proved un-hittable as the only base runners to reach for Southern Wesleyan before the fifth inning were walked. In six innings of work, Derick Fulmer allowed one run on two hits. Fulmer walked three batters and registered 9 strikeouts while receiving a no decision.

Fulmer would help his own cause however in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Crusaders finally broke through offensively. With one out and Adam Taylor on second base, Fulmer ripped a line drive down the left field line for a run scoring double which equal the game at one. With two outs, Tyler Callicutt dropped a single into center field which scored the go ahead run.
The Crusaders held the slim 2-1 lead until the top of the ninth inning when Southern Wesleyan even the score at two runs sending the game into extra innings after NGU was held scored less in the bottom half of the ninth.

The Crusaders worked the bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth inning with two outs, Taylor Hollifield stepped to the plate. With one strike, Hollifield was pegged his upper back by an inside pitch which forced in the game winning run.
The Crusaders were relatively quiet at the plate scoring just three runs on eight hits. Two of the eight hits were produced by Adam Taylor who was 2-4 with two runs scored. Derek Fulmer also had a multi-hit game going 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Tyler Callicutt was 1-5 with an RBI.

The win for the game goes to Brian Giles who is now 2-0 on the season. Giles pitched two and a third innings giving up one run on one hit. He tallied five strikeouts. The Crusaders are now 5-0 on the season against SWU and 24-10 overall.
