Tigerville, S.C.—The North Greenville Baseball team extended its winning streak to 14 games on Saturday after sweeping a double header 15-8 and  7-6 over Young Harris at Ashmore Field.
Game Two Stats

The Crusaders jumped ahead early in game one after catcher Anthony Foulk ripped a solo home run over the left field fence. After a three run fifth for the Mountain Lions, the Crusaders trailed 4-2. North Greenville would even the score at 4 in the bottom of the fifth inning after a bases loaded single from David Frazier which platted two.
The Crusaders took their second lead of the game in the seventh inning after Derick Fulmer ripped a two run homer over the left field wall, NGU’s second homerun of the day.  North Greenville would go on to score six runs in the seventh inning on six hits.

The Crusaders also took advantage of two Young Harris errors.  The Mountain Lions chipped away at North Greenville’s lead in the eighth scoring two runs. The Crusaders secured the win and the series in the eighth inning after scoring five runs on two hits. Young Harris once again aided the Crusaders offensive effort with three errors.

In game two the Mountain Lions were the ones who took a one run lead in the first. The Crusaders answered in the bottom half however scoring three runs, two of which came on an Adam Taylor two run, homer. The Crusaders added three more runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead. The Crusaders headed into the final inning looking to ice the game but with bases loaded and two outs, Young Harris short stop Tommy Ferguson tied the game with a grand slam.

The Crusaders never panicked. Anthony Foulk led the bottom of the seventh off with a single to center field. With one out and Foulk on first, Derek Fulmer stepped to the plate and ripped a game winning double over the centerfield fence scoring Foulk from first base.

The two wins put NGU at 18-6 on the season with 17 games left. The Crusaders next game will be on Monday against Southeastern, a rematch of last year’s World Series semi final game.
