Tigerville, S.C. – The North Greenville baseball team increased its winning streak to 12 games with a 4-3 victory over Young Harris on Friday afternoon at Ashmore Field.
Drew Provence (4-1) picked up the win as he pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five. Nate Richards and Josh Turner combined to pitch 2/3 of an inning before Brian Giles pitched the final 1 1/3 innings to pick up his fifth save of the season. Giles allowed only one hit while striking out two batters as he held off a late-game rally by the Lions.
On offense, Derek Fulmer led the way going 1-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted in. David Frazier finished the day with an RBI, while Anthony Foulk was a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
The Crusaders (16-6) and Lions will play the last two games of their three-game weekend series tomorrow in a doubleheader in Tigerville. The doubleheader is set to begin at noon.
