Greenwood, S.C.—The North Greenville Baseball team dropped its third game in a row Friday night losing to Lander 2-1 in nine innings.

The Crusaders’ only run came on a solo home run from Tyler Callicutt in the top of the seventh inning, his second of the season. Callicutt’s two home runs lead the team. Callicutt’s homer also tied the game at one.

Lander answered in the bottom of the seventh with one run to take2-1 lead which would be enough to pick up the win. The 1 run loss to Lander is the third one run loss of the season for North Greenville.

The Crusaders struggled from the plate again Friday night scoring one run on four hits. On the mound for NGU was Drew Provence who pitched six innings giving up two runs on six hits. Provence allowed an un-characteristic four walks.

The Loss drops North Greenville to 4-5 on the season, the first time the team has dipped below the five hundred mark in 70 games. The Crusaders and Bearcats will wrap up their three game series on Saturday in Tigerville, with a double header starting at 1pm.
