Tigerville, S.C.—The North Greenville Baseball team was held to one run while mustering only two hits on the way to a 5-1 loss to Anderson University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Crusaders were held scoreless until the bottom of the ninth inning. The loss puts NGU at 4-4 season. The loss to the Trojans was NGU’s second in two days after falling in extra innings to Brevard on Tuesday.
While North Greenville’s bats went cold, Anderson’s warmed up to the tune of five runs on eight hits. The Crusader’s only offense came from the bats of Derek Fulmer and Andrew Lawrence who were both 1-3. The Crusaders left 9 runners on base.
NGU’s lone run came in the bottom of the 9th inning on a sacrifice fly from Jacob Goetze. NGU will take a day off on Thursday before returning to the diamond on Friday for an afternoon matchup at Lander.
