Game Two Box
Brevard, N.C.—The North Greenville Baseball Team (34-8) kept the proverbial ball rolling today sweeping the Brevard College Tornadoes in a double header 8-3 in game one and 8-3 in game two.

Junior right hander Matthew Benjamin was credited with the win after pitching 4.2 innings giving up three runs on seven hits. Benjamin struck out one batter and allowed a walk. Nate Richards came on in relief for NGU pitching 2.1 innings allowing no runs on two hits.
The Crusaders took an early lead over the Tornadoes scoring four runs in the top of the second. NGU padded their lead scoring four runs in the fourth inning. Brevard cut North Greenville’s lead to four with a two run bottom of the fourth. Brevard would go on to score one more run in the fifth inning however the Crusaders answered scoring a run in both the fifth and sixth innings to ensure a game one win.
Leading the offensive charge for NGU in game one was short-stop David Frazier who was 3-3 with two runs scored and two RBI’s. Dayton Lupton and Randy Stegall were both 2-4 with a run scored and Adam Taylor was 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
Mark Benjamin got the start for NGU in game two. Benjamin pitched a complete seven innings giving up three runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.
The Crusaders followed the same blue print in game two as in game one. NGU took an early lead with a two run second inning. After Brevard platted a run in the fourth inning, North Greenville answered with four runs to extend their lead to 6-1. The Crusaders ensured the series sweep over Brevard with a two run seventh inning.
In game two the Crusaders were led by Derek Fulmer who was 2-4 with a homerun. Dayton Lupton also had a solid game two going 2-4 with two runs scored.
The Crusaders next game will be Wednesday at Truett McConnell College with the first pitch scheduled for 3pm.
