Tigerville, S.C.—Ace right hander Drew Provence improved to 8-0 on the year as the Crusaders win at home against Brevard College 14-2 in seven innings on Friday afternoon.
The Crusaders wasted no time setting a tone offensively. After retiring three straight Brevard hitters in the top of the first inning, the Crusaders plated three runs on two hits and a BC error. North Greenville plated at least one run in every inning except the sixth. The Crusaders put the game out of reach in just the second inning scoring six runs on six hits.
The Crusaders were led by Derek Fulmer who was 2-3 with four RBI’s and two runs scored. David Frazier and Anthony Foulk also had solid days at the plate for NGU. Frazier was 3-4 with three RBI’s and two runs scored and Foulk was 2-2 with four runs scored and two RBI’s. Foulk’s two RBI’s came on a two run homerun in the fourth inning.
Drew Provence pitched six total innings giving up one run on six hits. The Tornadoes did not register their first hit until the fourth inning and their one run scored on Provence was unearned.
The Crusaders and Tornadoes will wrap up the three game series tomorrow with a double header starting at 12pm.
