Travis Henson, Head Baseball Coach

"It is a priviledge to be part of North Greenville University athletics. I believe in the mission of this great school and I am excited about the mission here at NGU.There is a great commitment to athletics here and great facilities so I'm excited."

"Here I get to coach at a Christian school close to my home that is only five minutes from here. So its a great fit."

"To him much is given, much is required. That's one of my favorite Scriptures. North Greenville has been given a lot and I am excited about what we are going to do here."

On recruiting local talent: "I have a lot of connections here in the Upstate with coaches and players that I have competed against at the high school level. So we want to utilize those connections to delve into the local talent, which there is so much of."

On goals for this season: "We want to promote an attitude of confidence. A positive attitude. But the bottom line is to win baseball games, so that is what we want to do. Eventually we want to be one of the top D-II baseball programs in the country."

On his team: "The way we are going to start is with instilling that athletic mentality. Instilling confidence. Pushing them to work hard. There is great talent in place. Coach Nihart did a great job getting talent here. Now we've just got to maximize it."

On his father, a long time high school coach in the Upstate: "My dad has coached high school baseball in the Upstate for a long time. He is a mentor for me. He is who I go to for expert advice."
