Baseball splits with Brevard

TIGERVILLE, SC-North Greenville University split an afternoon doubleheader with Brevard College Saturday. The Crusaders took game one 5-1, while the Tornados won the second game 9-5. NGU improves to 13-21 on the season.


Grayson Smith pitched seven innings, giving up eight hits and striking out three batters to pick up the win for the Crusaders. Shane Galloway gave up nine hits and struck out three batters in four and two thirds innings in the loss.

Corey Hinton batted 3 for 3 with three RBI and one run scored to lead North Greenville. Dylan Davidson batted 2 for 3 with one RBI and one run scored.

Luke Lovelace led the way for Brevard, batting 2 for 3, while Spencer Linn went 1 for 3 with one RBI.

North Greenville scored two runs in the first inning, one in the third, and two in the fifth. Brevard scored its only run in the fourth inning.


Seth Laughter pitched four and two thirds innings to pick up the win for Brevard. Dylan Davidson took the loss for NGU.

Justin Frady batted 3 for 4 with three RBI and three runs scored to pace the Tornados. Josh Miller went 2 for 4 with two RBI.

Chris Tate led the Crusaders, batting 2 for 4 with one RBI and two runs scored. Davidson batted 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Brevard took an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning. The Tornados added one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings and four runs in the sixth. NGU scored four runs in the fifth inning and one in the seventh.
