Seth Montgomery (0-3) took the loss for the Crusaders after allowing six runs on 15 hits in eight complete innings. The second game was a seven inning affair which was scoreless until the sixth inning when
Lee Helms led off the bottom of the seventh for the Bobcats with a triple down the right field line, and
Michael Newman (6-0) picked up the win in relief after allowing only two hits with two strikeouts in 1.2 innings. Wes Sorrells did not factor in the decision, but pitched well in his first start, allowing three unearned runs on four hits with eight strikeouts in 5.1 innings. Brett Hamilton (0-2) took the loss for the Crusaders after allowing four runs, only one earned, on seven hits in six-plus innings.
