North Greenville athletics teams up with Water of Life

Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville athletics has partnered with Water of Life during the 2018-2019 schedule year to help raise funds to drill clean water wells in communities across the globe.

The Water of Life, a non-profit founded by Roland Bergeron based out of Greer, South Carolinas aims to share Christ's love as well as provide clean drinking water to every person in the world. It is estimated that over 800-million people across the world live without daily access to a clean water source. Water of Life is tasked with solving this global issue by digging wells in communities that lack this necessity.

The cost of each well is around $3,500 and while many organizations with the same task only drill to around 25 – 50 feet, Water of Life routinely drills to around 150 – 200 feet, providing clean water for 25 to 100 years while the shallower wells routinely last only a few years and face the dangers of contamination over time.

The Greer based organization currently works in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and India.

“Water of Life is excited to team up with North Greenville Athletics for the 2018-2019 season,” says local representative Sarah Kelley. “Both organizations are committed to the vision that Christ makes the difference. This partnership lives into this vision by radically changing the lives of unreached villagers though new, clean water wells and sharing the gospel of Christ.”

“This is a great opportunity for North Greenville Athletics and North Greenville University as a whole to step up and help people across the world,” remarked Associate Athletic Director Micah Sepko. “North Greenville’s reputation in the missions field is well known and this is another opportunity for us to show the love of Christ as well provide people with a resource that we take for granted every day.”

The goal has been set to raise enough money to dig at least two wells which would total around $7,000 of raised funds. NGU will also look for opportunities to partner with other groups around campus as well as with other teams and schools throughout the season to help reach this goal and beyond.

North Greenville Athletics will provide plenty of opportunities for fans and other interested parties to donate toward this cause with donation buckets set up at every home event as well as promotional tables at selected events. Water of Life also provides the opportunity to donate online (please designate North Greenville University in the 'Honor or Memory' line so that it can be counted toward our goal).
