Tigerville, S.C. - North Greenville alum and former NGU football player and coach Joe Novotasky has been named the new Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning it was announced by Athletic Director Jan McDonald on Wednesday afternoon.
Novotasky, a two-time graduate of North Greenville spent the last three seasons on the North Greenville football staff serving as the defensive line coach. This was Novotasky's second stop at NGU after assuming the role of Graduate Assistant in 2010 under then head coach Jamey Chadwell.
As a former defensive standout himself, Novotasky helped lead the Crusaders to a Victory Bowl title both as a player in 2006 and as a coach during the 2010 campaign. He was also a member of the 2011 football staff that helped lead the program to its first-ever NCAA Division II Playoff berth as well as a mentor and coach on the 2016 playoff squad.
Before his second stint at North Greenville, Novotasky coached at Riverside High School in Greer, South Carolina and served as the team's strength and conditioning coach. He graduated from North Greenville with his Bachelors in Sport Management in 2010 and earned a Master's in Business Administration in 2012.
In his new role, Novotasky will take over as the director of football strength and conditioning as well as baseball and men's lacrosse.
