The North Greenville men’s golf team will compete in its first tournament of the season beginning today, Sept. 9 in the Anderson University Invitational.
The Crusaders will be led by senior Josh ONeal and juniors Tucker MacDonald and Sam Goodnight as the team looks to carry over the success from a 5th place finish in the 2012 Conference Carolinas Tournament.
Both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at North Greenville were victorious this weekend and will look to continue that momentum into this week’s matchups.
The men, winners of the season’s first two contests, have outscored opponents 16-2 in 2013 and will host Emmanuel College on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium to start the week. The team will also travel to Greenwood, SC on Saturday, Sept. 14 for a matchup with Lander University at 7 p.m.
The women’s team is also coming off a successful weekend in which they shut out in-state rival Southern Wesleyan University 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The team will open this week with a road game against Young Harris College on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 5 p.m., followed by a home contest against Brevard College on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium.
The JV Soccer team also plays two game this week, hosting Toccoa Falls College in Pepsi Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m.and traveling to Belmont Abbey College on Friday, Sept. 13 for a matchup with the Crusaders at 4 p.m.
The North Greenville University volleyball squad is looking to rebound after opening the season 1-2 in the 3rd Annual Crusader Invitational. The Crusaders lone win of the tournament came against St. Augustine University with a 3-2 comeback victory.
The team will begin its week with a trip to Orangeburg, SC to take on Claflin University on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. The Crusaders continue their road trip on Friday, Sept. 13 with a contest against UVA Wise at 6:45 p.m. in Bristol, TN as part of the King University Tournament. On Saturday, Sept. 14 the Crusaders will conclude their road trip with two matches on the day. The first matchup will be with Carson Newman University at 10 a.m. followed by a 2:30 contest with Trevecca Nazarene University.

The North Greenville tennis teams also begin play this week as they compete in the 2013 Conference Carolinas Individual Tournament over the weekend. The tournament, taking place Friday, Sept. 13-Sunday, Sept. 15 will be held in Sumter, SC.
