High Point, N.C. – Conference Carolinas is announcing the NCAA Division II sponsorship of Emmanuel College. Emmanuel College, located in Franklin Springs, Georgia, currently competes at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA Division I) level.
"With our growing athletic program at Emmanuel College, we are grateful about the new opportunities we could offer our students as we seek NCAA Division II membership in Conference Carolinas," says Dr. Michael Stewart, President of Emmanuel College. "This transition allows us to expand the quality of our program, while also adding value as we compete with like minded colleges.”
“Emmanuel College shares the values and competitive spirit reflective of Conference Carolinas and Division II. A primary goal of each is to educate student athletes prepared to participate, compete and succeed during and beyond the intercollegiate experience. That portends a long and successful partnership between Emmanuel and Conference Carolinas,” Dr. Alan Patterson, Commissioner of the Conference Carolinas.
Upon NCAA application approval, Emmanuel will become scheduling partners with Conference Carolinas’ institutions. After successfully completing the three-year NCAA membership process, Emmanuel will become a full-time member.
