Crusader Golf Hires New Head Coach

Tigerville, SC – Just one month after the resignation of head golf coach Jeff Pittilo, North Greenville University is pleased to announce the hiring of new head coach Lewis Soulsby.


Soulsby found great success over his 10-year coaching career at Lake Norman High School in North Carolina. While coaching the Wildcats, Soulbsy made eight trips to the North Carolina State Golf Tournament where his team finished in the Top 5 three times, while also coaching an individual athlete to a runner-up finish.

A member of the North Piedmont Conference, Soulsby was named North Piedmont Conference Coach of the Year in 2008, while Lake Norman was named North Piedmont Conference Champions five times, earning a Western Region North Carolina Championship in 2003.


In addition to being a top notch golf coach, Soulsby was also one of the top girls’ basketball coaches in North Carolina, coaching South Lake Christian Academy from 2000-2010. Under the leadership of Soulsby, South Lake earned five state NCCSAA championships, while Soulsby was named NCCSAA Coach of the Year five years in a row from 2002-2006.


Soulsby earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from West Virginia State University in 2004, while also studying Education at UNC-Charlotte and UNC-Greensboro from 2001-2003.
