NORTH GREENVILLE TO LAUNCH WOMEN'S GOLF AND JV MEN'S SOCCER
Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Chronicling the expansion and dynamic growth of the intercollegiate athletic program at North Greenville University, Crusader Athletics will launch women’s golf and men’s JV soccer as the newest additions to its sports lineup in the Fall 2010.

The new women’s golf program will be coached by current NGU men’s golf coach Jeff Pittillo, and the growth of the sport among women was instrumental in the addition of this sport.  The overwhelming interest in men’s soccer and the large number of players trying out for Coach Chad Gfeller varsity program, stimulated the need to add a second option for the men.  Gfeller will oversee the JV program as well when they begin competition in August 2010.
“We are delighted to announce the addition of these two new sports,” NGU Director of Athletics Jan McDonald said.  “There is a great deal of interest in women’s golf and men’s soccer at North Greenville and we felt it was essential to meet the needs of our student-athletes by adding these sports. “
